Steelers came from behind, twice, to send this game into overtime and a shoot out – Anthony DeLuca capped a great game with the final goal and man of the match Jackson Whistle made the final save to send the Steelers fans home happy on Boxing Day.
Earlier the Steelers had hit back twice with goals from Captain Jonathan Phillips and a powerplay strike from Mark Matheson.
The two teams get to do it all again tomorrow, this time in front of a 9,300 sell out crowd in Sheffield.

An even period with both goalies, Whistle and Garnett making several excellent saves.
Steelers went into the game with Matt Climie as the scratch with Whistle starting and Brad Day backing up.
After recent losses coach Tom Barrasso changed the lines up with John Armstrong, Robert Dowd and Tanner Eberle starting.
Steelers best chance came midway through the period when Brandon Whistle had Garnett beaten but his shot his the post.

Almost 6 minutes into the third and Evan McGrath did brilliant work and drove the net from the outside, the rebound popped up and Jonathan Phillips slotted home for 1-1. Panthers asked for a video review but after a long delay, the goal stood.
