1 Point for the Steelers in a 2-1 Penalty Shoot Out Loss to the Blaze

Tom Zanoski’s goal was enough to secure a point for the Steelers in Coventry on Sunday.

The Blaze went on to win the game 2-1 after overtime and a penalty shoot-out in which the Steelers failed to convert.

Jackson Whistle again was the star of the show, stopping 36 of 37 shots.

After a scoreless first period it was the Steelers who took the lead.

Ben O’Connor’s outstanding pass found Tom Zanoski on a breakaway. There was no messing from Zanoski as he quickly fired the puck into the top corner for the opening goal.

Steelers help onto the lead until 48.43 when Nicolai Bryhnisveen equalised.

Both sides had opportunities to win the game but into overtime we went.

Blaze had the advantage for 2 minutes with Johnson in the penalty box for interference.

With no further scoring taking place we went to a shoot out, DeLuca hit the post but he and the Steelers other shooters all failed to find the net.

Nikiforuk and Flodqvist both scored for the Blaze to claim the extra point.

Final Score: Blaze 2-1 Steelers.
