New defensemen for the Steelers
Head coach Aaron Fox has confirmed the signing of Finnish defensemen Veeti Vainio, he is in the Country and expected to make his debut against Belfast Giants “TONIGHT”
Steelers are without Colton Saucerman, who was injured in Cardiff last week.
Fox said “Veeti is a two way defenseman that should fit right into our group and give us that needed depth we really need at the moment.
“His skating is elite and puck moving ability I would consider to be another huge strength of his game.
“Veeti is Extremely smooth for his size and plays a solid and hard defensive game. He’s played the majority of his career in Liiga and is still at a great age.
“His season last year was cut short due to surgery so he’s looking forward to getting back playing again.
Veeti should be cleared and in the lineup tonight vs Belfast”.
