Adrian Saxrud Danielsen Confirms His Stay with the Steelers

After playing just 16 games for the Steelers in the Elite Series Adrian Saxrud Danielsen has committed himself to the Sheffield Steelersfor the 2021/22 Elite League Season.

Saxrud Danielsen was one of Aaron Fox’s 8 imports in that shortened series and now returns for a full year with the Steelers.

The 28 year old becomes the clubs first Norwegian import for a full season.

Head coach Aaron Fox said “I’m really excited to get Saxy back in Orange. He’s an excellent 2 way Dman who can play a physical heavy game but also skates extremely well”

Saxrud Danielsen led the Steelers in the #2021EliteSeries with a +/- of +19

Fox continued “He’s extremely professional, a good teammate and takes really good care of himself, he plays the game the right way and loved his time here, he is very much excited to get back to Sheffield for a full season”

Before joining the Steelers Saxrud Danielsen had represented his country at both under 20 (11 appearances)  and full senior team levels (10 appearances).

Speaking from his home in Norway, Saxrud Danielsen said “I guess the audition went well for both the club and I” referring to his spell with the Steelers in the Elite Series.

“I really liked Sheffield, my team mates and Foxy. The Elite Series was a cool experience

“Without doubt the club was the most professional I have ever played for. Everything was taken care of, on and off the ice leaving the players to do what they do best, play”

Saxrud Danielsen was under no illusion that coming to the Steelers meant being ready and prepared to win “That’s a major reason I am here” he said “Foxy and I talked a lot about this and I want my time in Sheffield to have a trophy or two to show for it”
