A great night on and off the ice with the Steelers on Saturday.
Marco Vallerand’s game winning goal ensured 2 points for the Steelers as they remained top of the EIHL.
Off the ice the Steelers had some great winners as well, a huge 50-50, over 20 Shirt Off Your Back Winners, Jump, 5-Guys Chuck-a-puck and a Lucky Programme Winner.
The game against the Storm was sponsored by our good friends at 512 Sheffield and they were on the ice at the start of the game for the ceremonial puck drop.
Sam Preece and Mike James were on hand to join the two captain for the puck drop.
It was the EIHL “You Can Play Weekend”
Before the game, the fans lit up their phones and the Steelers players all wore their special “You Can Play Shirts”
Game on. The Steelers were first to score, in fact just 5 seconds remained in the first period when Tanner Eberle struck for the 1-0 lead.
The Storm made it 1-1 at 22.37 ( Mario Puskarich ) and then went 2-1 up 7 minutes later ( Jared Aulin )
Big John Armstrong then tied the game for the Steelers.
Steelers would take the lead again just 22 seconds into the final period, a face off win for Brendan Connolly and a fist time shot for Marco Vallerand.
Steelers would go on to win the game 4-2.
Brendan Connolly would find the empty net with just 13 seconds remaining.
Steelers win, the fans are happy and we remain top of the league.
512 Sheffield were back out onto the ice for the Bradfield Brewery Sponsored “Man of the Match” Awards.
Luke Cowan and Jack Heeley were on hand to make the presentations.

The Steelers wore special “You Can Play” Shirts last night – they were all raffled off with over 20 prizes.
The first prize went to Paul Richardson and Big John presented him with his game-worn shirt
The Steelers man of the Match was fan favourite “Davey Phillips”

Davey had the crowd cheering and clapping before throwing his stick like a Javelin for his “Eddy”
“It was only four years coming,” said Davey on the Steelers Podcast “Big thanks to the fans for the reception, it was great to hear”
