Barry Brust will start tonight’s game against hosts Aalborg Pirates in Game 1 of the Continental Cup (7.30pm local time – 6.30pm in the UK)
It’s the first time that the Steelers goalie will have played in Denmark with back up Rok Stojanovic also dressing.
The Steelers have already skated today after arriving at the team hotel last night.
It wasn’t all good news for head coach Aaron Fox with the clubs first line of Marco Vallerand, Robert Dowd and Tanner Eberle all ruled out despite Vallerand and Dowd skating earlier “yes the three of them will be missing certainly tonight and maybe for the weekend” said Fox “we are thin but we have Valdix coming in and he has had three good practises with the group and has settled in well
“Andreas will play with Anthony DeLuca and Jonathan Phillips, Hodgman will join up with Sointu and Mosey and they were an impressive unit for us a week or so ago. John Armstrong will move up and play with Conns (Brendan Connolly) and Martin Latal.
“We might be light but we will come ready to play tonight and start this tournament off well”
