Captain Phillips “Excited for Dundee on Saturday”

Captain Jonathan Phillips says he and the team will be rested and ready to go when Saturday comes around and a home game against the Dundee Stars.

Phillips and his GB colleagues were given a few days off after the Olympic pre-qualification tournament in Nottingham last weekend.  The rest of his team-mates had last week off and were back at it again on Saturday at Ice Sheffield.

“We will be ready” said the Captain. “I know the boys enjoyed their break last week. Getting away from the rink after all the hockey we have played will have been a good thing. Some bodies will have certainly enjoyed the rest and they guys will come back refreshed.

“I know those of us who were away with GB have appreciated the few days off we have been given.

“I was down to the rink yesterday and the boys were flying, they seemed upbeat and ready to go.

“There is no such thing as an easy weekend in the EIHL anymore and this weekend is certainly not going to be one. Dundee and Fife are fighting for Play-Off places and they will be determined to turn us over.

“With hopefully DeLuca and Hrabal back and ready if selected I’m confident we will give our best effort on Saturday and take the game to Dundee.
