Comeback Required Tomorrow Night – Steelers 0:1 Stars

The Steelers will require a comeback performance tomorrow night as they went down by one goal to nil in the first Play Off quarter final leg tonight at the Utilita Arena.

Vojtech Polak was out of the squad tonight as Barry Brust was chosen as starting netminder over backup Rok Stojanovic.

Neither team could find the back of Brust’s or Morrison’s net until the 57th minute when Sebastian Bengtsson scored the only goal of the game. Brust making a good initial save on Timi Lahtinen but the rebound found its way to the backpost and Bengtsson made no mistake.

Although goalless, the first two periods contained some physical entertaining hockey with Vallerand laying a big mid-ice hit along with Sam Jones and Kyle Haas also getting into a short and quick punch up.

A solid defensive performance from Davey Phillips saw him skate away with the Steelers Man of the Match award, although Davey’s and the rest of the squads thoughts will be firmly on the task at hand tomorrow.

Before puckdrop, we also saw Sheffield Window Centre being named as the title sponsors again for next season, which will make it the 12th year in a row – a big thank you once again to everyone involved.

Tune in tomorrow via Twitter or Dundee Stars TV to see how the boys get on, and hopefully(!), we will see you in Nottingham next weekend.
