An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Steelers organisation for a full time, professional physiotherapist.
The successful candidate will be working in an Elite sport with experienced professional athletes in a highly competitive environment.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;
Working with the club on injury protocols and rehabilitation programmes aimed at getting players match-fit as quickly and safely as possible.
Testing joints for ease and range of movement, pain and dysfunction.
Mentally and physically preparing players before a competition, including the use of strapping, taping and massage techniques where necessary.
Providing emergency first aid support in a sport and exercise environment. Please note that a doctor is always present at all EIHL matches.
Examining and assessing injuries and determining whether the participant can continue safely with the event or activity.
Treating and managing injuries to alleviate pain and discomfort as far as possible.
The rehabilitation of injuries by using manual therapy techniques, exercise and therapeutic modalities.
Designing and monitoring rehabilitation programmes appropriate to the injury.
Consulting with the team and club doctor regarding extra treatments which may be required and coordinating referrals to other practitioners.
Working alone or with coaches, trainers and/or fitness advisers to formulate and implement exercise, conditioning, core stability and injury prevention programmes, so that players reach and maintain peak performance.
Liaising closely with the Team Physician and Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Being prepared to work in a professional environment, without distractions, to a high standard.

A flexible approach to working hours is essential as working evenings and weekends is a requirement of this role, as is attendance of both home and away fixtures.
