The Steelers are wishing Mark Vater all the very best of luck on Sunday as he takes part in “The Great North Swim”
Mark is the General Manager of the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria, long time sponsors and friends of the Steelers.
Staff at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria have set themselves a staff challenge of raising £25,000 for Sheffield Childrens Hospital “Build a Bedroom Appeal”
Mark has set himself for his first charity fund raiser is a 2 mile open water swim on Lake Windermere! This will be part of the Great North Swim and is taking place on Sunday 14th June 2015.
How did the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria Sheffield become involved with this charity?
The life of the owner daughter was saved by the remarkable doctors and nurses at Sheffield Children´s Hospital when she was only 5 weeks old. A child that young that has suffered a cardiac arrest makes you realise how precious life is and how we take it for granted.
The Sheffield Children’s Hospital is undergoing a £10 million pound extension to provide new facilities and equipment to help children have a brighter future and the best possible chance in life.
We are lucky that this country has wonderful facilities like the Children’s Hospital, however, these organisations only survive through the generosity of the public. Guaranteed without them, my bosses cheeky little girl would not be with us today
Mark’s fundraising total currently sits at £1,399.70. Mark’s target for this swim is a minimum of £2,000.00. If you would like to support Mark and the Sheffield Childrens Hospital, you can donate via his just giving page.
Come on Steelers fans, what a great cause and what a great challenge for Mark.
Steelers wouldn’t be the Steelers without the on going support of Mark and all those at the Holiday Inn Royal Victoria – If you can donate please do so.
