An exciting end of the league season as the Steelers dominated proceedings in Milton Keynes.
Steelers outshot their hosts 42-24, in doing so goals from Tanner Eberle, Jordan Owens, Tom Zanoski and John Armstrong ensured the final 2 points of the year headed back to Sheffield.
Credit the Lightning, playing their 3rd game in as many nights and once again short benched they gave their all for their final game of the season.
Tim Wallace’s power-play goal was all they had to show for their night’s work.
Steelers hit posts, crossbars and forced several outstanding saves from Patrick Killeen during the sixty minutes.
Tanner Eberle opened the scoring for the Steelers, the only goal of the first period at 18.08
Short-handed Jordan Owens doubled the advantage 5.29 into the middle session (assisted D. Phillips and Ryan Martinelli)
The fourth line once again came through scoring the 3rd goal, Zanoski helped by Brandon Whistle and Jonas Westerling.
Tim Wallace pulled a PP strike back for the Lightnight but Big John Armstrong secured the victory with an empty-net goal 96 seconds before the final hooter.
Steelers now Face the Cardiff Devils in the play-off quarter-finals next weekend.
