Steelers Awards Night Goes with a Bang
What a fantastic awards night, hoisted by the Sheffield Steelers Supporters Club, we had on Monday evening.
Fans, players and staff all mingled for a fun night with great food and some incredibly well deserved awards.

Voted for on the night by those in attendance.
The winner was Patrick Watling and his award presented by Ray Fryer
Man of Steel Award
Awarded to head coach Aaron Fox and presented by Ray Fryer.
For outstanding leadership in the most unprecedented times following the incident in October, and how Aaron led the team and the club through this period.
Niki Donnelly, Services to the Community Award
Sheffield Talking Therapies take this award home for their presence in the arena earlier this season.
We will forever be grateful for the incredible support they offered us all
Brimble Roach Award
For services to the club, this was awarded to John Broughton, one of our long term volunteers and 50-50 sellers.
John recently went through some pretty major surgery but he never missed a beat with the club working all the way through until his time in hospital and returning immediately afterwards.
Kids of Steel Player of the Year
Voted for by the junior members of the Supporters club and presented by Tracey Shaw.
Well the kids voted in their masses for Colton Saucerman.
Best British Player
Tracey remain on stage to present this award to the captain, Robert Dowd.
The Away Player of the Year
Presented by Jean Owen, and voted for by SSSC travelling members.
Matt Greenfield collected this award for some outstanding performances between the pipes on the road this season.
SSSC Player of the Year
Voted for by members of the SSSC and presented by Jean Owen.
Mitchell Balmas was award the prize.
Coaches Player of the Year
Head Coach Aaron Fox came to the stage to announce that the winner of the coaches, player of the year was … Kevin Tansey.
Players Player of the Year
Captain Robert Dowd was next on stage to award the teams choice of their player of the year.
That award was made to Mitchell Balmas
Champagne Moment
This was awarded to the whole team for their double winning achievements (today)
Ray Fryer took pride of place presenting this award.
The night wasn’t over, with the auction and raffle taking place.
There was a super frame of Josh Nicholls and game worn shirts of Brett Neumann and Sam Jones
Raffle winners, well many collected prizes of framed photos of the recent celebrations and they were invited up to the stage for photos with the players.
A huge thanks to the SSSC for organising and fantastic night to share with the players, staff and fans
