New Challenge Cup Format

New Challenge Cup Format

There will be an exciting new Challenge Cup format for the 2019-20 season.

With 10 teams participating in the competition a new format was required with an easy to understand progression system to the quarter-finals and semi-finals.

There will be one group of four teams (Belfast, Dundee, Fife and Glasgow). They will play each other once at home and once away. The top three progress into the quarter-finals.

Then there will be two other groups of three teams each.

Cardiff will take on Coventry and Guildford whilst the Steelers are paired with Nottingham and Manchester.

These groups will play two home and two away games against the opposition.

The top two teams in each group progress to the quarter-finals.

The two teams finishing at the bottom of their groups then play in one exciting “Play-In” game for the final, quarter-final place to make the 8th spot.
