Steelers strength and conditioning coach Danny Mawer oversaw the team’s first off ice work out and fitness test on Monday afternoon.
The tests took place at the EIS
“We are lucky to have these great facilities and off ice coaches” said head coach Paul Thompson “These tests will continue throughout the year so we can monitor weight, strength and stamina of the players
“It’s a good stepping stone so we know what condition the guys have come to camp in and what improvements need to be made and worked on
“The guys look like they have come into camp in good shape and ready to work. It was good to see the competitive nature of the off-ice tests as well, there was a friendly rivalry right from the start”
The Steelers will hold their first on ice training session later this afternoon.
