One In and One Out at the Steelers.
Tom Barrasso has made more changes to his Steelers roster ahead of Wednesday night’s game against the Coventry Blaze at the Fly DSA (Sheffield) Arena.
Experienced import goalie Matt Climie has joined the club from Austrian side Innsbruck whilst defenseman Jiri Gula has been released following the arrival of Ben O’Connor last weekend.
Climie (35) has played 5 NHL games with Dallas, Phoenix and Vancouver whilst tallying 265 AHL games with Iowa, Houston, Texas, San Antonio and Chicago.
He moved to Europe in 2015 playing two years for German DEL side Straubing Tigers. Last season he had spells in Slovakia and Italy before joining Innsbruck at the start of this campaign.
Climie has arrived in Sheffield and will be in the squad ahead of Wednesday £5 all ticket fixture against Coventry Blaze (7.30pm face off)
Steelers wish to thank Jiri Gula for his time with the club since joining us this summer. Gula has played in all 15 games to date and was released on Monday afternoon.
