Post Elite Series as Players Head Home or to the World Championships

With the #2021EliteSeries over the Steelers have been arranging safe transport for all of the players.

Some of course will remain in the UK as preparations for the World Championships begin with their training camp due to start in Coventry this week.

Others have already returned home such as Josef Hrabal and Josef Mikyska who flew out of Heathrow airport yesterday.

Steelers will continue to participate in talks with the other nine EIHL sides about the return of the Elite league later in the year and hope to have news about a return home to the Sheffield Arena in late summer.

The club would like to thank all involved with the Elite Series, from those in Nottingham organising the event to all of you at home who supported the Steelers with webcasts purchases, 50-50 and SOYB raffle sale etc.

Our sponsors once again came to the front in their support of the team, players and club.

Most of all our coaching and playing staff. Aaron Fox and his team of staff and players all fully committed to the series and sacrificed their time in a small bubble ensuring the event went to plan – all four sides did the same we no Covid-19 issues developing during the entirety of the series.

We now look forward to the World Championships and the confirmation of the new EIHL season.

During the summer we will continue to keep you all advised of all issues relating to the Steelers, the EIHL and our playing staff.
