A disappointing night at the Arena on Saturday as the Steelers were shut out by the Coventry Blaze.
Despite pressure and several good opportunities to score the Steelers failed to find a way past Miroslav Kopriva in the Blaze net.
After a scoreless first period the Blaze found away past the impressive Matt Climie at 28.31 when Chris Joyaux scored.
Steelers thought they had scored late in third period when Jonas Westerling’s shot looked like it had crossed the line. The referee’s went for a video review as thousands of bears were thrown onto the ice as fans celebrated the “Teddy Bear Toss” with Hallam FM.
With Matt Climie pulled for the extra forward the Blaze found the empty net with 55 seconds to go and round off the scoring.
Final score: Steelers 0-2 Coventry Blaze
