Steelers went down to their fourth straight defeat as the Dundee Stars moved up to level points in the battle for a play-off position.
Steelers could have been in front after just 8 seconds when Robert Dowd found himself in a great scoring position.
Dundee then raced into a 2-0 lead after a power-play goal by Fabrizio Ricci and a further strike from Drydn Dow.
Mark Matheson pulled a goal back in the 14th minute from close range with Westerling and Dowd collecting the assists.
Ricci scored his second of the period with 2.27 remaining to send the Steelers in 3-1 down after 20 minutes.
John Armstrong scored the only goal of the middle period to give the 6,000 plus crowd hope.
Ryan Martinelli equalised (3-3) 4 minutes into the final period with a power-play goal (assisted McGrath and Buzzeo)
Steelers then went onto the power-play looking for the go-ahead goal when Robert Dowd was called for interference on a call that looked strange as the Steelers #75 didn’t touch the opposing player.
Stars capitalised on the resulting power-play with Matt Marquardt scoring on a neat one time finish for 3-4.
Dundee scored another power-play goal 2 minutes later with Bouchard scoring and then the Stars completed the scoring with an ENG with 80 seconds on the clock (Ricci).
