Two valuable points for the Steelers in the most important weekend.
After a 4-3 victory over the Blaze, the Steelers travel to Manchester on Sunday to take on the Storm.
Anthony DeLuca was the hero of the night scoring another 2 goals with further strikes coming from John Armstrong (shorthanded) and McFadden.
DuLuca scored his first goal in the 15th minute, a wrap around assisted by Evan McGrath.
With the Blaze on the power-play, the Steelers truck again shorthanded, John Armstrong picking up a Tom Zanoski pass to double the advantage.
Bryhnisveen halved the Steelers lead at 26.52
DeLuca struck back with his second, Davey Phillips and Josh McFadden assisting on the clubs 3rd goal at 31.16.
Steelers looked like they had secured both points when McFadden made it 4-1 with 13 minutes remaining.
The Blaze struck back, firstly through Ben Lake (49.27) and then Kevin Morris (57.53)
In between those goals Eric Neiley clashed with Blaze goalie Matt Hackett, both players receiving 5-minute fighting majors.
Coventry pulled their goalie but the Steelers stood tall to see the game out.
Final score: Steelers 4-3 Coventry Blaze.
DeLuca was the Steelers man of the match – his “Eddy” had the Steelers fans on their feet.
