Jordan Owens scored a dramatic overtime winner for the Steelers as they recorded back to back victories in the Elite League.
After leading 1-0 the Steelers trailed 2-1 and 3-2 before Josh Pitt tied the game late in the third period and Owens scored the OT winner.
Sheffield dominated the first period outshooting the Flyers 10-3 but remained snake-bitten and went into the break 0-0
Mark Matheson broke the deadlock scoring the first goal of the night at 21.15 (McGrath and Buzzeo)
Ricards Birzins levelled the score line at 32.40 and then with Justin Buzzeo sitting out 2 minutes for hooking the Flyers went ahead for the first time 38.02 when Chase Schaber scored.
Steelers immediately hit back at the start of the middle period when Matheson converted his second of the night from long range.
Sheffield were creating the chances and looking to take the points but it was the Flyers who went ahead again, this time Rick Pinksten firing through traffic to score.
Josh Pitt scored his 5th of the season with just over 6 minutes remaining to tie the game at 53.45
Jackson Whistle made an outstanding glove save in the final moments of regulation to secure a point and take the game into overtime.
Evan McGrath face off win gained possession and his excellent work set up Jordan Owens who calmly converted from close range to send 4500 fans home happy on a Wednesday night.
