Steelers completed their 3rd victory over the holiday period after beating the Manchester Storm 6-4 on Saturday night.
Steelers goals from Mark Matheson, Arron Johnson, Robert Dowd, Evan McGrath, Anthony DeLuca and Jonas Westerling.
With Rob Linsmayer in the penalty box Mike Hammond put the Storm into the lead shorthanded at 8.10.
The Steelers hit back on the same powerplay when Mark Matheson redirected a Ben O’Connor shot past Matt Ginn.
Ciaran Long then had the Storm back in front at 9.55 (1-2)
Steelers were back level before the break when the netted a second powerplay goal. This time it was Arran Johnson who scored.
It took the Steelers until the 30 minute mark to take the lead, but Robert Dowd pounced and Sheffield were ahead.
Steelers took control at 44.38 when Evan McGrath extended the lead to 4-2
The Storm though weren’t finished and hit back through Luke Moffat at 46.05
Man of the match Anthony DeLuca then scored a super solo effort for 5-3 at 47.02
The Storm refused to go away and Linsmayer brought the score back to 5-4 with 11.20 on the clock.
Jonas Westerling with an empty net goal concluded the scoring and the Steelers victorious 6-4.
Anthony DeLuca rounded the night off with his first “Eddy” as a Steeler.
