Steelers BHC Enters the National Championships

The Sheffield Steelers ball hockey system is going from strength to strength, and the juniors are entering the national championships on July 12.
For those who haven’t experienced Ball Hockey, it’s a team sport and a variation of the sport of Ice Hockey, which is similar to street hockey, played all over the United States and Canada. Advantages of Ball Hockey are that it is easily accessible due to the minimal equipment required, such as a helmet, stick and gloves

Teams from around the UK will arrive at Simply Skate arena, in Rotherham, on July 11 to compete for the Nationals trophy. It’s a major tournament in the Ball Hockey world and the Steelers have every chance of silverware in their first tournament.

Our very own Jason Hewitt has been on hand to help the junior ball hockey players, as they push for their first piece of silverware.

Steelers Head Coach Paul Thompson has shown his support to the Steelers ball hockey juniors and had this to say ”You have to support anything that puts a smile on the kids faces and the Ball Hockey does. Hewey and Shaun have told me how good it is and I can’t wait to go down one night and give it a go my self.

“Those kids playing are Steelers and that means they are a part of us, so we back them 100%”

Good luck to the juniors, the whole organisation will be cheering you on. The results will be shared once the tournament has been completed.
