The Steelers cemented their place at the top of Group C in the Challenge Cup tonight with victory on the road against the Nottingham Panthers.
As John Armstrong re-joined the squad, with qualification already confirmed it was confirmed that Marco Vallerand would be rested for the important league game tomorrow against the Cardiff Devils.
Rok Stojanovic was entrusted with starting duties tonight with Barry Brust on backup duty.

The Steelers went into the first period intermission with a one goal lead through a powerplay goal from Robert Dowd after some slick passing by Kevin Schulze and Anthony DeLuca found Dowd at the left wing circle and with Carr out of his crease he made no mistake in finding the open goal. Goal timed at 6.09.
The Steelers maintained their one goal lead in the second period with an even one goal apiece.
The Panthers did take the lead at 27.42 via a Matthew Myers powerplay goal when he beat Stojanovic up high after Welsh had wrapped the net and found Myers infront.
The Steelers second goal came courtesy of the ever-impressive Matias Sointu at 39.01 when he once again found himself around the blue paint and was able to tap in a hard pass/shot from Evan Mosey. Daine Todd also picking up an assist on the play.
In the third the Steelers were able to stack the blue line and keep most chances to the outside after extending their lead to two at 43.50 via Martin Latal who put on the burners to make his way around the Panthers defence and beat Carr five-hole. Sointu picked up an assist on the play to finish 1+1 on the night.
With another impressive display, Matias Sointu picked up the Man of the Match award although a shout-out is due to Rok Stojanovic with a 97.67 save percentage on the night.
