The Sheffield Steelers have released goalie Pavel Kantor from their line with immediate effect.
The 28 year old Czech goalie arrived in Sheffield this summer but only made 5 starts with a 1-4-0 record between the pipes.
In those 5 games Kantor played 283 minutes facing 122 shots, conceding 21 with a saves average of 82.79% and a goals against average of 4.45
“We have decided to part ways with Pavel Kantor” confirmed head coach Aaron Fox
“With the strong play of Tomáš Duba so far we felt like this was the right decision to make at this time. Tomas has played so well over the last 6 weeks that it’s hard to find games to give Pavel a opportunity to find his game again
Also, with us needing the injury cover for AJ and Liwing this just made sense for us at this time. We will still be looking for a import goalie to come in at some point soon to support Duba as part of a goalie tandem and we wish Pavel nothing but the best and thank him for his time and effort here”
