29th in all time Steeler appearances playing 212 games scoring 81 goals and 193 points.
Aaron Fox said “Army had a really solid year for us. Was our only real true Centremen and played a key role in all situations for us. Another guy who plays the game the right way, very responsible defensively and puts up some solid offensive numbers for you.
“Seems to always play his best against the other top teams as well. Thought in that Cup
final he played outstanding and was a big reason we won that game. Very happy to have him back for another year.
After completing his MBA at the University of Sheffield Aaron Johnson returns for a third season at the Arena with the Steelers.
In 87 games in Orange AJ has scored 6 goals and 33 points.
Aaron Fox said “I wasn’t sure if this was a deal we would be able to get done but am extremely excited he wants to play another year and to have him back for another year as a player/Assistant Coach. On the ice last year he could not of been more unlucky with the injuries and thought he was our best two way Dman before the injury.
“He plays every shift the same way physical, up tempo and the right way. I do believe his professionalism, attitude and the way he prepares are infectious and he brings huge character to our Locker-room culture. Very excited to have him back.
What an impact he made on us all, welcome back Marek Troncinsky for a second year as a Steeler.
52 games last season scoring 12 goals and 34 assists. An EIHL All Star.
Aaron Fox said “Marek came in and immediately made an impact. He’s a great offensive Dman. He skates extremely well for his size and has a great shot.
“He made a huge impact for us and are excited to have him back. When he wants to he can play a physical heavy game as well and Thought his defensive game got better as season went on. Year 2 should be exciting.
Back for a 3rd season in Orange is Tanner Eberle
Eberle had an outstanding season last year scoring 27 goals and 58 points in an ever present 62 league & cup games.
Aaron Fox said “I felt Eberle was Mr reliable last year. No nights off, plays with reckless abandon and willing to buy in to the team first mindset at all costs.
“He also had a great year offensively and hope to see him build off that. He gets to the hard areas and makes it very difficult on opponents each and every shift. Will be great having him back for another year”.
Sam Jones joins the Steelers from the Fife Flyers.
In his first season in the Elite league Jones registered 7 points in 24 games
Aaron Fox said “Sam is a very talented Brit Defenseman who I felt would be a great addition to our Roster. He’s big and skates very well for his size. Will play a physical game and can add some offense as well.
“He Played in all situations for Fife last year and thought he really stood out against us. He’s excited to come in here and show what type of player he is. I’m looking forward to having him for the next two seasons”.
After leading the Steelers in scoring Brendan Connolly will be returning for a 2nd year in Orange.
Over a point a game for Brendan scoring 28 goals and 63 points in 61 games in Orange
Aaron Fox said “Conns is that guy you absolutely love to have on your team and hate to play against. He plays with heart, passion and intensity every night and will bring out the worst in opponents.
“You love guys who play on the edge and Conns Lives there. He also killed a ton of penalties and closed out close games for us. He played with Valley all year and we mixed some guys in there with them and all had success. Very happy to have this duo back creating problems for opposing teams.
Returning for a 3rd season with the Steelers will be Anthony DeLuca
In 54 league and cup games last season DeLuca scored 27 goals and 51 points
Aaron Fox said “Anthony is one of the most gifted offensive players In the League. When he’s moving his feet and engaged he is extremely dangerous and can take a game over by himself.
“I feel he also took some positive strides last year in his two way game and he knows that this year he needs to Focus and continue improving his consistency in that aspect of his game. He’s one of those guys who if he can figure That part of his game out with his age He could see himself playing at a higher level.
Steelers have confirmed that Marco Vallerand will be returning to the club for a 2nd season.
Vallerand scored 31 goals and 62 points for the Steelers last season in just 52 games.
Aaron Fox said “ I’m very pleased we were able to get Valley back for another year. He was the 1st import we signed last summer and knew he would be an offensive difference maker for us.
“His straight line speed is next level and he thrives in the spotlight and big games. What I didn’t expect is how reliable defensively he is. He killed penalties, was excellent in our tracking concepts and also finished tight games for us. Really happy to have him back”.
