Steelers Captain Jonathan Phillips states that his side has played well against title-chasing Belfast Giants despite only recording the one win verse the Northern Ireland side.
Speaking in this weekends match night programme, Phillips said:
“We have played well and competed in all the games against the Giants home and away, we are confident we will play well against them this Saturday
“I think we have been unlucky not to take more points than we have against Belfast
“Last Saturday we played with some energy and bite, it’s pretty simple to say but we have to play the same way again this Saturday”
Phillips scored his 10th goal of the season against Manchester last Sunday but says it doesn’t matter where the goals come from.
“It’s irrelevant who scores the goals just as long as we produce offensively
“Anthony DeLuca has been excellent recently and hopefully he will continue his goalscoring run against Belfast.
“The key for us is that we keep our focus over the 200 feet of the ice, offensively and defensively. Play hard and play hard for 60 minutes. Belfast will be 100% ready as they are chasing a championship, we have to match them in every area”
